They’re some of the most popular smartphones around the world, and if you use an iPhone, you could be eligible for a free screen replacement.
Apple has revealed that it’s replacing thousands of iPhone screens for free, due to an issue with the display module.
The issue affects iPhone 11s manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020.
Apple explained: “Apple has determined that a small percentage of iPhone 11 displays may stop responding to touch due to an issue with the display module. Affected devices were manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020.”
If you have an iPhone 11 and have noticed issues with your touch screen, it’s definitely worth checking if you’re eligible – especially considering how expensive screen replacements are otherwise.
According to Apple’s website, if your iPhone isn’t covered by AppleCare+, a screen replacement can cost you between £136.44 and £316.44, depending on the model!
Is your iPhone eligible?
1. Check your iPhone serial number. To do this, simply go to Settings > General > About
2. Enter your serial number into Apple’s checker here
3. If you’re eligible, Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider will provide a free screen replacement
It’s important to note that you may be charged if you have any other issues with your screen, such as scratches or cracks.
Apple added: “If your iPhone 11 has any damage which impairs the ability to complete the repair, such as a cracked screen, that issue will need to be resolved prior to the service. In some cases, there may be a cost associated with the additional repair.”
