Aubameyang’s agent takes dig at Mikel Arteta after Arsenal lose to Tottenham

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s agent took a swipe at Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta after the Gunners were beaten by Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.

A 2-0 defeat to their North London rivals was Arsenal ‘s third defeat in four games and leaves them 15th after their worst ever start to a Premier League season.

Aubameyang’s performances have come under particular scrutiny as he has managed just two league goals since signing a lucrative new three-year deal at the Emirates last summer.

The striker’s struggles in front of goal are symptomatic of Arsenal’s broader creative issues and the team has managed just 10 goals in 11 games.

Aubameyang has scored just two league goals – but Mensah is adamant his client is not to blame for his Arsenal’s poor form

Aubameyang’s agent, Kwaku Mensah, was keen to highlight this fact as he took to social media to aim a dig at Arsenal’s lack of creativity under Arteta’s style of play.

Mensah posted a picture of a Sky Sports graphic showing the alarming full extent of Arsenal’s woes in attack, accompanying the Instagram image with the words: “If you create chances…”

Mensah bemoaned the Gunners’ failure to provide Aubameyang with service

The statistics showed no team in the Premier League has created fewer chances than Arsenal’s 65 this season, while they are also sorely lacking goals and efforts on target.

But Arteta insisted goals will come as he spoke after the match, during which his side attempted 44 crosses.

“You could see from the chances we’ve created as well,” said the Gunners boss. “A cross doesn’t mean just an aerial cross.

“There were a lot of good parts where we penetrated the penalty box on numerous occasions, just to find the last pass or the final ball and the goal came through, we didn’t hit it, they blocked it – it was a lot of things to happen.

“If we generate it every week we will win football matches. At the moment it looks like we need to do a lot to score a goal.”
