A young man from Saguenay received two tickets of $ 1,546 in less than four days for receiving guests at his home when the region – which is in the red zone – is in a worrying situation of COVID contamination -19.

Patrollers from the Saguenay Police Department went to the residence on rue Émile-Nelligan for the first time, around 11:56 p.m. Friday.
According to police spokesperson Bruno Cormier, three people were there. The host, a 24-year-old male, received a ticket totaling $ 1,546.

A few days later, the day before yesterday, the Saguenay police received several reports concerning another illegal gathering at the same residence.
“Monsieur was receiving two more people. There were three notices of violation of $ 1,000 plus costs ($ 1,546) to each of the people on site, ”said Cormier.
Up to $ 6,000 plus fees
If he reoffends, the offending citizen could receive an even higher ticket, warns the spokesperson, recalling that the findings can go up to $ 6,000 plus costs, in the event of non-compliance with health measures.
The spokesperson takes the opportunity to advise the population that the authorities will be tougher on the application of the regulations.
“There will be a tightening in the application of measures related to the decrees of the government of Quebec from now on,” he added in a press release.
Last week, Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean was among the regions with the highest number of new cases.
