This is what the 60-year-old said on a daily basis USA Today, Tuesday.
“Absolutely, I would be happy to have this opportunity,” he said. I was a fighter for several years and I feel pretty good now. I always feel like I have one more fight to fight. “
It was following Saturday’s clash between Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. that the former world champion was asked about a possible clash against “Iron Mike”.
Recall that on February 11, 1990, Douglas surprised the boxing world by passing the K.O. to Tyson, during the 10e round of a world heavyweight championship clash.
“People ask me, ‘Why have you never had another fight?”, Said the boxer also.
“It just never happened, as far as a rematch is concerned. It has often been mentioned. That is just about everything.”
Douglas’ last professional fight was in 1999, but he says he would be able to get back into shape in “six or eight weeks of training.”
Tyson was frozen
Separately, Tyson revealed he was under the influence of marijuana during his clash with Jones Jr..
“Look, I can’t quit smoking,” he told media after the clash between the two in their 50s. I smoked during my fights. I just have to smoke, I’m sorry. I am a smoker. … I smoke every day. I have never quit smoking. ”
This should come as no surprise, considering that “Iron Mike” used a fake penis and borrowed his wife’s urine to evade doping controls during his career.
“It’s just who I am,” Tyson added. It has no effect on me from a negative point of view. It’s just what I do and how I’m going to die. There is no explanation. There is no beginning, there is no end. ”
