The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) recommends that the public do not consume Fresh Attitude brand baby spinach which may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria.

Vegpro International is voluntarily recalling these products distributed in Quebec and Ontario.

Packaged in 142g and 312g formats, the recalled products “should be discarded or returned to the store where they were purchased,” the federal agency said in a statement Thursday night.

“Food contaminated with Salmonella bacteria does not necessarily look spoiled or smell bad, but can still make you sick,” the CFIA warned.

No illnesses associated with the consumption of these products have been reported to the federal agency.
