Goalkeeper Olivier Adam made 34 saves to lead the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada to a 2-1 victory over the Gatineau Olympiques on Tuesday in Quebec City.
Signing a fifth win in as many outings this season, the 18-year-old goalkeeper also collected an assist on the net outnumbered Benjamin Corbeil in the second period.
Adam thus inflicted a first defeat in six outings at the Olympics, which shows an excellent record of 6-2 this season.
The Laurentian team quickly took the lead in this meeting. Alexis Gendron scored his third goal of the campaign after 2:09. Kieran Craig, however, hit the target before the end of the first period to bring the two clubs back on a level playing field.
In a losing cause, Rémi Poirier blocked 18 of the 20 pucks directed at him.
The Armada will play one last game in the Center Videotron bubble against the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. The same day, the Olympiques will meet with the Remparts de Québec.
