Marcus Stroman flirts with Francisco Lindor in Mets trade push

Marcus Stroman is firmly in the trade-for-Francisco Lindor corner.

The Mets right-hander expressed his hope that the Indians star shortstop, expected to be traded this offseason, will be a Met.

Stroman quote-tweeted a tweet to him about Lindor possibly being his teammate and wrote: “I’m praying on this.” When another Twitter user told him this was masterful recruiting, he responded: “I’m on it.”

The original tweet was a reference to Lindor purchasing merchandise from Stroman’s apparel line, HDMH Apparel, and posting it on Instagram.

It remains uncertain how hard the Mets plan to pursue Lindor, since he just has one year left on his contract and they have two options at shortstop, Amed Rosario and Andres Gimenez, and several other holes to fill.

There was some doubt about Stroman’s own Mets future until recently, when he decided to accept the team’s $18.9 million qualifying offer earlier this month.
