Two men, aged 19 and 21, and a woman, 22, were arrested overnight Monday to Tuesday for theft from vehicles in the borough of Mercier – Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, in Montreal.
The police were alerted by a witness who surprised at around 3:15 am the three individuals in the process of committing a theft, possibly of vehicle catalysts, on rue Duchesneau, near rue Myra-Cree.
Using the information provided by the witness, the police deployed a wide security perimeter and a dog handler was called to the rescue to search the area.
The three suspects were quickly apprehended, said a spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
They were to be heard at the operational center by investigators to determine their degree of involvement in this event.
