Nicholas Lyndhurst’s wife Lucy has spoken out following the death of the couple’s only child Archie earlier this year.
CBBC Archie, 19, was found dead at his family home in Fulham on September 22.
Two months after the tragedy, his mother Lucy revealed she and Nicholas still have ‘no answers’ as to what happened to their boy, saying she wouldn’t wish the pain on anybody.
Posting to Instagram on Monday, Lucy told her followers that she and Nicholas were holding a memorial for their boy while they waited on news and asked fans if they could also light a candle in Archie’s memory.
“It is with the heaviest heart that I write this post. Nine weeks ago our dearest boy Archie was taken from us way too early,” shared Lucy.
“We still have no answer as to what happened but wait patiently for the report to be written up in the next 10 weeks.
“The pain of our loss is beyond anything we have ever felt before, and wouldn’t wish upon anyone.
“Archie was, and remains our absolute world. He was the most beautiful extraordinary human being we have ever known. To have him as our son has been nothing but an utter joy and honour.
“Tonight at 6pm Nick and I shall be with him in a tiny chapel to send him on the first part of his next journey.
“If you get a moment maybe you’d like to light a candle or take a minute just to remember him.
“We’ve never known anyone live like Archie. He cherished and absorbed every moment he had,” she shared.
“Until we meet again our darling magical boy. We will love you forever and ever and will be forever grateful for choosing us to be your parents. We were beyond lucky. Thank you for every smile, hug, laugh, conversation we loved them all. Your kindness and generosity knew no bounds. You were the best teacher we ever had. We miss you every minute of everyday.
“As you would say my darling, “In a bizzle”.
“Love you,” finished Lucy.
The mum shared a number of photographs of her teen with the post, including one of them sharing a warm hug, some of his acting profile shots and another of him larking about with dad Nicholas.
Lucy was immediately inundated with support form her followers who shared their condolences to her and Only Fools and Horses actor Nicholas.
Archie had followed in his father’s acting footsteps with him landing a breakthrough role as Ollie Coulton in CBBC series So Awkward.
He also appeared in Casualty and played a young version of Jack Whitehall in the comedian’s show Bad Education.
CBBC paid tribute to Archie on Twitter after his death was reported in September, writing: “We’re so sorry to have to tell you that Archie Lyndhurst, who so brilliantly played Ollie in So Awkward on CBBC, has very sadly died after a short illness.
“Archie will be hugely missed by all who worked with him, and by all the fans who laughed along with Ollie in the show.”
