Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule ‘dreaming’ of Man Utd transfer

Manchester United’s hopes of signing a new centre-back have received a major boost as Bayern Munich star Niklas Sule is reportedly “dreaming” of an Old Trafford switch.
Sule, 25, has made 109 appearances for Bayern since joining from Hoffenheim in 2017, winning six major honours with the Bavarian giants.
But he has struggled to regain his berth in the starting XI after missing the majority of the 2019/20 campaign with an anterior cruciate ligament tear.
Sule was linked with United last year, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains keen on the Germany international as he eyes a new partner for Harry Maguire at centre-back.

And the United boss has received a boost in his pursuit of the defender, as German outlet Bild claims “Niklas Sule dreams of playing for Manchester United one day.”
A towering 6’5″ centre-back, Sule would give Solskjaer’s side added physicality in defence, while the player has won 29 caps for his country.
United have also been linked with a swoop for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, though Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane recently insisted the Frenchman is not for sale.

“It’s not just me [that wants to keep him],” Zidane said ahead of the trip to Villarreal.
“He is part of this club, we were very lucky to be able to bring him to Madrid.
“He has a great career, he’s achieved a lot since he’s been here. Of course, he is untransferable for the club, for the coach that I am, for people in general.
“That’s clear and unambiguous. Now we can’t stop people from talking. They’re not just talking about Varane, but about all the players, Real Madrid ones and others.
“But for Varane, my position is clear, and it’s the same as the club’s position.”
Given Zidane will not part ways with Varane, United may double down on their efforts to sign Sule.
