The tropical storm heads over Cuba at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Tropical Storm Eta is passing through Cuba on Saturday night and will pass near southern Florida between the weekend and the beginning of next week, with a force close to that of a hurricane, which will bring torrential rains, winds and strong waves.

The National Hurricane Center in its 10:00 p.m. newsletter. EST, indicated that the center of Tropical Storm Eta was located near latitude 20.7 North, longitude 79.9 West. Eta is moving northeast with a translation speed of about 13 mph (20 km / h).
The storm is expected to make a turn to the north and northwest at a slower speed on Sunday, followed by a move west on Monday.
On the predicted trajectory, The center of Eta will cross the center of Cuba tonight, will approach the Florida Keys and South Florida on Sunday and will pass near or over South Florida and the Florida Keys between Sunday and Monday, and will go out over the southeast Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday.
Have been issued tropical storm warnings for much of central Cuba and the northwestern Bahamas, including Nassau, Grand Bahama Island, and the Abacos. Tropical storm conditions are expected in these areas this weekend.
A hurricane warning for the South Florida coast from Deerfield Beach to Bonita Beach, and for the Florida Keys. Hurricane conditions are possible in this area on Sunday night and Monday.

A Storm Surge Warning for the South Florida Coast from Golden Beach to Bonita Beach, including Biscayne Bay, and to the Florida Keys. A dangerous storm surge is possible in this area.
A tropical storm warning it is now in effect from north of Golden Beach to the Brevard / Volusia County line, Florida on the east coast, and on the west coast, north to Englewood, Florida, including Lake Okeechobee. Tropical storm conditions are expected there Sunday through Monday.
