Gemma Collins shares coronavirus scare as her pal Dawn Ward was terribly unwell
Gemma Collins shared her shock when her pal Dawn Ward got coronavirus.
It gave the bubbly personality a scare when her showbiz friend, 47, contracted the bug and got sick “really badly”.
GC, 39, opened up about The Real Housewives of Cheshire star’s battle with the killer virus which left her “terribly, terribly, terribly unwell”.
She told The Sun : “A very good friend of mine Dawn Ward had coronavirus really badly, which was shocking. I think until it actually happens to someone you know, you think: ‘Oh this is weird. Is this really happening?’
“I started watching the film Contagion and then I started looking at crazy conspiracy theories but when Dawn Ward got it, I knew that it really existed and how serious it really can be.
“Unfortunately, the whole of the family got it and when I last spoke to Dawn, she was still terribly, terribly, terribly unwell. It was really kind of scary and I was like: ‘Gosh, this is real, this is happening.'”
Dawn was unable to star in Gemma’s reality series Gemma Collins: Diva Forever and Ever because of her COVID-19 battle.
It took her friend getting sick for the TOWIE bombshell to take the killer virus seriously rather than turning to “crazy” conspiracy theories online.
Gemma has previously revealed her belief in conspiracy theories including Lizard People which suggests shape-shifters exist.
It comes as the blonde beauty was seen on a flirty dinner with her ex James Argent just three months after their split.
Mirror Online stunned her fans with exclusive pictures from their flirtatious dinner date where they were both laughing and smiling.
A source told Mirror Online: “Gemma was with her nephews and they entered the restaurant together, while Arg was already there and they went to join him at the table.
“At first she sat next to Arg but they later swapped and sat opposite each other with her nephew between them.
“They looked pretty close and were having a good time together.
“Arg was laughing and chatting with Gemma and her family.”
