Iwan Rheon said filming a rape scene in Game of Thrones was the worse moment of his career.
The actor reflected on the harrowing scene where his character Ramsay Bolton attacked Sansa Stark which he lamented was incredibly tough to film.
Game Of Thrones’ villain, 35, admitted the 2015 episode Unbowed left him scarred.
Violent scenes captured the moment Ramsay raped his new wife Sansa, played by Sophie Turner, on their wedding night.
Evil character Ramsay did it while forcing Theon Greyjoy – played by Alfie Allen – to watch.
The brutal scene was not in the original books but added for the show which provoked an angry backlash.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Iwan explained how difficult he found shooting the scene and how he has since struggled to watch it back.
“That was horrible,” the actor said. “Nobody wanted to be there.
“Nobody wants to do that, but if it’s telling a story then you have to tell it truthfully.
“They didn’t sensationalise it or anything.

“It was very, very hard watching. It’s a horrible thing that happens, unfortunately, and it shouldn’t be. It was the worst day of my career.”
The controversial season five episode was hit with waves of backlash from fans and critics.

Sophie, 24, addressed the fury herself in a 2019 interview with Rolling Stone.
“I think the backlash was wrong because those things did happen,” she said.
“We can’t dismiss that and not put it in a TV show where it’s all about power — and that is a very impactful way to show that you have power over somebody.”
Game of Thrones ended last year after eight seasons.
