Pregnant shot by boyfriend died after giving birth in New Jersey | The NY Journal

A woman eight months pregnant was shot and managed to give birth to her son, but then died yesterday as a result of her injuries, in Paterson (New Jersey).

A police source said the shooting occurred around 1:30 p.m. during a domestic disturbance at 5 Christina Lane, from where the unidentified 31-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital and was able to deliver a healthy baby.

The police are looking for the victim’s boyfriend, who is the father of the baby, reported Pix11.

Last week, another pregnant woman was fatally shot in Paterson when a pickup truck passed by a group on the street and a shooting broke out.

The mayor of Paterson has criticized the wave of gun violence this year. As of October 2, there had been more than 80 shootings in that city.
