Ruth admitted she was fearful about sending Jack to university given the ongoing coronavirus pandemic

Speaking on Loose Women earlier this year, Ruth said she found it tough to pack her boy off to university while the coronavirus pandemic rages on.

She admitted she was ‘absolutely bereft’, but added: “I’m all right now, we took him and he seems to be fine, seems to have settled in all right, but it’s a worry now with lockdown.”

Husband and wife duo Eamonn and Ruth welcomed Jack back in 2002, two years after they tied the knot.

Eamonn is also father to sons Declan, 31, and Niall, 27, and a daughter Rebecca, 29 from his first marriage to Gabrielle Holmes.

Eamonn and Gabrielle were married in 1985 for 10 years before they separated in 1995.

When the Belfast born star started dating TV reporter Ruth two years later, they opted to keep their romance out of the public eye out of respect for Gabrielle and his three children.
