Strictly Come Dancing fans were baffled when they thought they spotted Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard on Saturday’s show.
Viewers looked twice when watching the opening group dance as they were surprised to see who they thought was former Strictly professional AJ Pritchard’s brother Curtis bopping to the beat.
It actually turned out that the professional dancer looked like Curtis – who was on the Irish version of Strictly – but it wasn’t actually him.
And now the identity of the hot-stepper has been unveiled as 25-year-old Kai Widdrington.
Dancer Kai made light of being compared to Curtis on his Instagram Stories by sharing a snap of a story about fans being baffled by Curtis’ doppelgänger and penning: “Pretty sure that is me there.”
Curtis also found the comparison funny as he added the story to his Stories and typed: “Was it me or was it not me the mystery continues.”
Kai is proud of being part of the Strictly cast and has shared his glee at being part of the hit show on social media.
Last week he uploaded a snap of himself and his fellow male dancers and typed: “So delighted to be a part of the group numbers of this incredible Production that is STRICTLY come dancing.
“What an opening it was last Saturday and there are plenty more incredible group dances coming to your screens in the coming weeks!
Stay tuned #keepdancing.”
All of the pro dancers performed to Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie to kick off the first live show this weekend.
Saturday night saw Twitter flooded with Strictly fans wondering if Love Island star Curtis had made his BBC Strictly debut.
Coronation Street actress Sally Ann Matthews wrote: “Is that Curtis?? x #strictly.”
Another commented: “I thought the new pro in blue was Curtis Pritchard for a minute and was so confused #Strictly.”
A third wrote: “Is that Curtis Pritchard I just saw dancing?? #Strictly.”
One tweeted: “That was Curtis Prichard in the strictly pro ensemble right? #Strictly.”
