Montreal Impact goalie Clément Diop is in his team’s entourage and he could face Nashville SC on Tuesday at Red Bull Arena.
The 27-year-old had left for France about two weeks ago for family reasons. Back in North America, he had to undergo a quarantine of several days, according to what the sporting director Olivier Renard said in a press briefing on October 15. However, now Diop has chances to resume his place after James Pantemis had participated in the last three duels of his family.
“Clément Diop is back with the group. […] We’ll see if he’ll be in goal tomorrow [mardi]. I rely heavily on the advice of [l’instructeur des gardiens] Rémy Vercoutre, “head coach Thierry Henry told the media on Monday, in comments reported by TVA Sports.
This season, Diop is 6-9-2, achieving three shutouts. In his last outing on Oct. 11, he made four saves in a 2-1 loss to the Philadelphia Union.
Montreal is ninth in the Eastern Conference with 23 points, two behind Nashville.
