Mark Gdd from Albany, New York, set a record by eating 41 tacos in one hour, 26 minutes and 59 seconds. The surprising thing is that the man from 35 years started eating competitively to lose weight has served its purpose. Before I weighed 265 pounds and for almost three years he has weighed 172 pounds.
Mark participates in food challenges for fun and also as a way for his family to travel, “I keep doing food challenges because I really enjoy it, and it’s a fun way for my family to travel and go places we normally wouldn’t go. ”He told MLive from Michigan.
Taco challenge
On his recent Michigan tour, faced four challenges, the greatest record was achieved with 41 tacos in Sparta.
In the competition called Wall of Fame Taco Challenge Made in Downtown Trini’s and Margarita Joe’s, Mark had to end up with around 7 pounds of food in two hours. Tacos can be hard or soft-shelled and consist of ground beef, cheese, and lettuce.
The New York native overcame the challenge and set a new record of 41 tacos in 1 hour, 26 minutes and 59 seconds. The previous record was 40 tacos in two hours.
The other three local challenges that Mark completed and conquered:
The Freight Train Challenge at Bagger Dave’s Burger Tavern. Devoured one three pound hamburger of stacked meat and fries aside in 11 minutes and 34 seconds.
Triple Bypass Burger Challenge from City Limit. Another hamburger and fries challenge you ate at 3.5 pounds of food in 15 minutes and 56 seconds.
Hoginator Sandwich Challenge from Old Iron Bar & Grill. This brutal competition involved five pound pork sandwich BBQ with fries on the side. The time allotted to devour all that is one hour. Mark completed it in 48 minutes and 36 seconds.
But this is not all. Mark Gdd will continue his tour of competitions in this 2020. The next could be in West Virginia in mid-November. Videos of his recent challenges will be posted on his YouTube channel in November.
