iPhone 12 customers angry as orders delayed on launch day due to ‘stock issues’

After months of anticipation, Apple’s iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have finally gone on sale today.

While many Apple fans are eager to get their hands on the new smartphones, several have been left disappointed due to last-minute delays.

Despite pre-ordering the iPhone last week, several customers have been told that their iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro now won’t be with them until November.

The issue appears to be with carriers including Vodafone, Sky Mobile and EE, rather than with Apple itself.

Several frustrated customers have taken to Twitter to discuss the delays.

One user said: “VodafoneUK absolutely disgusted in your service! Preordered the latest iPhone 12 pro a week ago to get a text this morning, on the day of its arrival to be told it’s delayed! This not acceptable. Don’t sell the latest phones of you’re unable to get get them out on time!!”

Another wrote: “Pre-ordered iphone 12 pro last week for it to be delivered today on release date. After booking the day off work, I get a text saying it’ll be delayed until 2nd november!  Surely it’ll be first come first serve?! Fuming really SkyUK.”

And one vented: “EE can u tell me why my iphone 12 orders been delayed last minute when i ordered it at release and got a email sayin expect it tomorrow?”

In response to one frustrated customer, Vodafone said that it was experiencing ‘stock issues.’

It said: “We’re very sorry the delivery of your iPhone 12 has been delayed. This a stock issue which we’re working incredibly hard with Apple to resolve. This is affecting not just us but our competitors too.”

Vodafone is also offering customers affected by the delays a Power Bank worth £30.

Mirror Online has contacted Vodafone, Sky Mobile and EE for further information.

The two iPhones going on sale today are the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro, which both feature 5G.

The £799 iPhone 12 features a 6.1-inch display, a dual-camera system and is available in five colours – blue, green, black, white and red.
