Germany: 11,287 new cases in 24 hours, a record

BERLIN | Germany recorded 11,287 new COVID-19 infections in 24 hours, a sudden jump from the previous day and a record for the country since the outbreak of the pandemic, according to official data released Thursday.

This figure, which was still only 7,595 on Wednesday, far exceeds the previous record reached last Friday when 7,830 new cases were recorded by the Robert Koch Institute for Public Health Surveillance in the country.
