Lomachenko vs Lopez UK start time for lightweight world title fight

Vasyl Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez clash tonight in the biggest fight since Tyson Fury dethroned Deontay Wilder way back in February.

Originally scheduled for April, the lightweights have waited patiently for their chance to shine and tonight one will be crowned the undisputed 135lb champion.

Remarkably, both men have fought just 15 times as professionals with Lomachenko already a three-weight world champion while Lopez promises to be the next big thing in boxing.

Will experience overcome youth or will Lopez’s power be too much for Lomachenko to handle?

The questions will all be answered tonight, and here, we have everything you need to know about the fight…

The fight will start between 4am and 4.30am in the UK which is between 8pm and 8.30pm in Las Vegas where the fight is being held.

Lomachenko vs Lopez will follow Alex Saucedo vs Arnold Barboza Jr which is due to start just after 3am.

UK boxing fans will therefore be faced with the old-age question: stay up, or set the alarm?

What TV channel is it on and is there a live stream?

None of the traditional UK broadcasters have picked up this fight with Sky Sports seeing their offer rejected by promoters Top Rank.

Therefore UK viewers will have to stream the fight via Fite TV which will screen the bout at a price of £9.99.

Head over to the Fite TV website to buy the fight.

Fite TV will also be showing the undercard for free from 12.30am before the encryption kicks in at 3am.

Odds

Plenty of boxing fans and experts believe Lopez can upset Lomachenko and inflict a second defeat on the pound-for-pound great.

But the bookmakers don’t agree, with the three-belt champion from Ukraine the odds-on favourite at around 1/4.
