Around 11:50 p.m., FDNY received the report of a car fire at 11-05 44th Drive, near 11th St, in Long Island City.

Responding officers found the 58 year old woman seriously injured, unconscious, lying on the ground outside his vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim resided in Brooklyn.

A further investigation by the New York Police Department determined that Jackson was driving his Honda CRV to high speed heading north on 11th Street, when he jumped the sidewalk at the northeast corner of the intersection before crashing into the building.
