Donny van de Beek’s biggest problem at Manchester United is he’s being used sparingly as a substitute, according to his agent.
Sjaak Swart has made the unusual decision to come out in the press and slam the Red Devils’ handling of the summer signing from Ajax.
Most clubs like to slowly introduce new recruits to their system so as to not upset the apple cart and to give the signing time to embed.
But Van de Beek’s agent Swart thinks Man United are letting his client down by only bringing him off the bench in the Premier League so far this season.
And he’s far from happy about it.

“A substitute, I don’t like it at all,” Swart told Voetbal Primeur. “I couldn’t do it myself, substituting in with four minutes left to play. Then you’d better let me sit down.
“I have to say: he did three more good things. The penalty, where the winning goal came from, came from him. But normally they should have lost 1-7. Five times post and bar, Brighton… they have a nice team, but that shouldn’t happen to Manchester United.”
Manchester United splashed out £35million on Van de Beek in their only piece of business in this summer’s transfer window.
The Dutchman performed well in pre-season, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is being cautious with the midfielder in the early stages of the campaign.
Van de Beek made his United debut in the opening day defeat by Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. The 23-year-old came off the bench to net the Red Devil’s consolation goal.
