Steve Martin makes Father of The Bride comeback as cast of hit flick reunite

It’s 25 years since George Banks fumbled his way through the Father of the Bride films.
And tomorrow, we’ll find out how he’s coped with a pandemic.
Steve Martin’s hapless character is set to reunite with his family for a one-off special.
It’s comeback marks almost three decades since he walked daughter Annie down the aisle in 1991 film.
In the 1995 sequel he welcomed a child and a grandchild, both now 25.
The actor, 75, teased a clip announcing the return of the Banks family “for a very special event”.

The stars caught up via video call which was arranged by screen son Matty, played by Kieran Culkin.
Franck, played by Martin Short, is back along with Annie, Kimberly Williams-Paisley.
Diane Keaton, George’s wife Nina, is likely to return.

Producer Nancy Meyers said of George: “If he thought a wedding was a lot, how would he react to 2020?”
The reunion airs tomorrow at 11pm on Netflix ’s social media channels to benefit World Central Kitchen.
