Jack Fincham has been battling with his mental health since he was 19.
The 26-year-old former pen salesman, who shot to fame during his stint on Love Island, has recently transformed his life by training to be a professional boxer.
New dad Jack’s struggles with severe anxiety and depression – which began long before he appeared on TV.
His troubles started as a young teen, and by age 19 his “overthinking” had got so bad he didn’t want to leave the house.
The handsome lad also struggled to sleep – as a result of “negative” thoughts snowballing in his head.
Speaking candidly to The Sun, he shared: “It’s the overthinking and I can’t sleep – since I was a young teenager it’s something I’ve suffered with, sometimes you’d have a bad day and talk negatively to yourself.
“With anxiety you can start overthinking things you don’t need to think and then it all snowballs. I’ve got out of that mindset.
Jack is on medication – prescribed by his GP – including citalopram, an antidepressant, and propranolol, a beta blocker used to treat anxiety.
And the star now says that due to boxing he is in the best mental and physical shape of his life and as a result he is “going to start lowering the dose” of his anxiety medication.
Last year Jack revealed that he hit rock bottom after an all-night “blowout” that saw him snorting cocaine at a club after sinking back alcohol in the early hours of the morning.
“I’d never normally be in these situations but, yes, since winning the show I have been offered cocaine a lot,” he previously told the publication.
“But I went out all night, I was drinking and I just got carried away and made a stupid, stupid mistake which I wish I’d never done, you know. I regret it.”
Jack revealed his incredible body transformation this week, after just two weeks of boxing training ahead of the launch of his brand new reality show, The Fight Of My Life.
The reality TV regular – who was branded “obese” by doctors in January 2019 – is being coached by Tyson Fury’s former trainer and has signed a professional contract with promoters BOXXER.
The first episode of his new reality show, The Fight Of My Life, launches on Youtube on Wednesday night.
