Gemma Collins begs for Selling Sunset job after meeting Jason Oppenheim

Gemma Collins has shared the moment she met Selling Sunset’s Jason Oppenheim years before he shot to fame on the hit TV show – and begged him to give her a job.

The GC was introduced to the Netflix star when she went house hunting with her CelebrityBig Brother pal Johnathan Cheban in Los Angeles two years ago.

Luckily, the outing was captured for Gemma’s reality show Diva Forever, with the the former TOWIE star digging out the footage this week to brag about her claim to fame.

Taking to Instagram, Gemma showed how she could have almost wound up a star of Selling Sunset herself.

But in typical GC style, Gemma almost took an embarrassing tumble when entering the first property on offer as she struggled with a dramatic stepping stone entrance over water.

“Rule number one, don’t ever bring Gemma to negotiate a house,” moaned Cheban, who is also pals with US reality queen Kim Kardashian.

“I would be good in real estate, you know, because I’d get people excited,” Gemma mused as they took a look around.

Plugging her skills to Jason she told him: “I used to work as a car dealer you know. And I was really good at it because I would get natural enthusiasm and I get people excited and they would part with their cash there and then.”

Gemma, Jason and Jonathan then moved to another million dollar property with Gemma continuing her appeal to bag a job with the Oppenheim Group in the States.

“Do you look at people’s bank statements before you show them around?” she asked Jason, who set up the brokerage with his brother Brett.

“All the time. Do you know how much bulls**t there is round here?” Jason told her, adding that many people vacationing in LA just want to see inside the beautiful homes on offer.

At the end of Jonathan’s house hunt, Gemma made a final push to Jason.

“If you want a hot shot seller – it’s me” she told him.

“I could sell you five houses a week. One they’d like me, I’m English, I’m a star, I’m just trying to find a new job in Hollywood,” she said reeling off her skills.

“I was a great car salesperson. I won award after award. I could sell house like that,” she quipped with a click of her finger.

Jonathan then poured cold water on her dreams telling her Hollywood was nothing like Brentwood.

”I’m telling you now I could sell real estate,” said a defiant Gemma.

Two years later and Gemma is still living her best GC life while Jason has gone on to find huge fame as one of the Selling Sunset stars.

The show returned to Netflix for series 3 during lockdown, which focused heavily on the divorce of Crishell Strause.

Luckily for fans, Series 4 has been commissioned but filming has had to be delayed due to the coronavirus.
