Democratic and Republican Congressmen They agreed on Tuesday a legislative package that will prevent a government shutdown in the coming days.

The president of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi released a statement on the deal with fellow Republicans and officials in the Donald Trump administration. Democrats were seeking funding for school-age nutrition assistance programs.

“We reached an agreement with the Republicans to add almost $ 8 billion in nutrition assistance desperately needed for hungry students and families, “Pelosi said in a statement. “We also increase the responsibility of Commodity Credit Corporation, to prevent farmers’ funds from being misused in a bailout of Big Oil ”.

Farmer aid was a bipartisan cause, though some Democrats fear Trump will use it for his election campaign.

The legislation will be voted in the Camera on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. The Senate will do it at the end of the week.

The term to finance the government expired September 30th. You will now have funds until December 11.
