Luis Suarez ‘furious’ with Barcelona as Atletico Madrid transfer in doubt

It has not been a good few days for Luis Suarez, and his nightmare looks set to continue with Barcelona reportedly reconsidering allowing him to join Atletico Madrid.
It was made clear to the Uruguayan striker over the summer that he is not part of new manager Ronald Koeman’s plans going forward, and the 33-year-old initially looked set for a move to Juventus.
The move eventually collapsed, however, due to passport complications, but to make matters worse Suarez may now be facing fraud allegations over claims he cheated on an Italian test which was necessary to gain the passport.
And just went it looked like things couldn’t get any worse, according to ESPN he has been left livid as Barcelona look set to pull the plug on a proposed deal for him to go to La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.

It was believed Suarez was close to signing a two-year deal to join Atletico, with Barcelona seemingly happy to let him go for free as long as he gave up a percentage of the money owed to him in the final year of his contract.
But ESPN claim the club have now changed their mind, and Suarez is now considering holding an extraordinary press conference alongside his lawyers in which he will claim he and Barcelona reached a verbal agreement for him to move to Diego Simeone’s team.
It would be yet another twist in what has been a hugely dramatic summer for Barcelona following the saga which saw Lionel Messi announce his intentions to leave before he was forced to stay.
It remains to be seen whether Suarez and Barcelona can come to an agreement, but if they don’t it is not clear which other teams the player could move to, particularly as the Catalan giants reportedly do not want him to go to the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City or PSG.
