Liverpool vs Arsenal among Premier League games hindered by coronavirus curfew

Coronavirus curfews are set to have a massive influence on fans watching matches in the Premier League.
Pubs, bars and restaurants are set to close from 10 pm as part of new guidelines that are put into action on Thursday.
However, that will leave some fans wondering what will happen in the Premier League.
Some matches are set to start at 8:15 pm – including Liverpool vs Arsenal on Monday night.
That means the final moments are likely to go past 10pm, with injury-time added on.
Manchester City played Wolves on Monday this week and the match did not end until 10:08 pm.
The newest guidelines have been branded a ‘final nail in the coffin’ for many pubs.
It is a remarkable turnaround from only weeks before when the government encouraged people to go out and take advantage of half-price meals.
“We have to acknowledge the spread of the virus is now affecting our ability to reopen large sporting events,” Boris Johnson said on Tuesday.

“We will not be able to do this from October 1 and I recognise the implications for our sports clubs, which are the life and soul of our communities.
“The chancellor and the culture secretary are working urgently on what we can do now to support them.”
Meanwhile, Dover Athletic chairman Jim Parmenter has revealed the club are just ‘a week or two’ away from going out of business after it emerged fans would not be allowed back into grounds from October 1.

“We have got a week to two weeks left, without some kind of decision on when we can start,” Parmenter said.
“We have to start with fans; it is impossible without fans.
“We have already spent significant amounts of cash on training and preparations for the start of the season, so that money has gone.
“We are reliant on sponsorship, gate money, tea and bar revenue, things like that to pay the bills, and none of that looks likely going forward.”
Dover Athletic are just one of many teams in non-league that are facing armageddon with new rules in effect for up to six months.
