A Question Of Sport’s Matt Dawson and his wife Carolin Hauskeller broke up after 11 years together.
Their love story spanned 11 years – nine of which they were married after they tied the knot in 2011.
The showbiz couple have shared their plan to stay friends to co-parent their sons Alex, seven, and Sami, six.
Rugby ace Matt, 47, who was dropped from A Question Of Sport weeks ago, broke the news of his marriage crumbling in a tweet to his 258K followers on Monday evening.
He wrote: “We know this will be a surprise to most but after 11 years together Carolin and I have decided our relationship needs a new direction, bringing our marriage to an end.
“The love for our beautiful boys grows stronger day by day as does our friendship as co-parents.”
His split announcement was accompanied with a loved-up picture of the pair in happier days together.
Matt reached out to their friends on his social media profile to ask for their support in the next chapter of their lives.
Also, the dad-of-two stressed the importance of their sons understanding their family will always be “united”.
He went on: “To our dear friends please continue to support us as positively as you can for the next stage of our lives.
“It’s vital that Alex and Sami understand that we will always be a united family.”
Their sad news is the latest split in a catalogue of celebrity break ups since lockdown.
