Gary Neville aims dig at Ed Woodward over handling of Jadon Sancho transfer

Gary Neville has hit at Manchester United over their transfer business – and believes they are falling further behind their Premier League rivals.
United have made just one signing so far in what has been a disappointing summer, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer securing the services of Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
The boss is desperate to bolster his attacking ranks but has been unable to agree a deal with Borussia Dortmund for No.1 target Jadon Sancho.
The failure to fresh faces to the squad has frustrated Neville, who has singled out Old Trafford chiefs for failing to splash the cash when the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea have strengthened their first-teams.
And Nevile also believes they need at least three new signings after seeing his former team struggle in their Premier League opener with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
He told Sky Sports: “That first-half won’t have settled down the Man United fans who have been demanding more activity in the transfer market.
“It’s not happened yet. The club just don’t seem able to get things done quickly enough or efficiently enough.”
“They need a centre-back, they need a left-back and they need a forward-striker.

“Without them, Man United are not going to close the gap. Chelsea have acted and Liverpool are acting – they are already stronger.”
Neville also urged Solskjaer to sign a new defender to partner captain Harry Maguire.
He added: “One area Man United need to try to strengthen is centre-back. But it has to be a quick one – someone who can defend one-on-ones.
“If you look at all the best centre-half partnerships down the years, they have always had a quick one.
“Old Trafford is a big pitch and particularly if your full-backs are going forward then you are going to leave your centre-halves one-on-one.
“Over the years, the best Man United centre-back partnerships have always had that really quick one – whether it be Jaap Stam or Rio Ferdinand or Gary Pallister – who has lightning pace to get across and snuff out the danger. Lindelof and Maguire just don’t have that.”
