Marina Granovskaia and her recruitment team have not let up in their pursuit of Europe’s best players to supplement Frank Lampard’s squad with, adding Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva to the defence.
Their summer showpiece, however, is without doubt the big-money addition of Kai Havertz.
The Germany international joined after lengthy discussions having felt he had outgrown former club Bayer Leverkusen.
The Blues might not have finished their business just yet if recent reports are to be believed.
Here is your latest Chelsea transfer round-up for Thursday 17th September.
New contract and fresh loan for Chelsea academy graduate
England U-21 youngster Conor Gallagher is set to join West Bromwich Albion on loan for the 2020/21 season, after signing an improved extension to his Chelsea deal, according to Birmingham Mail.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Charlton Athletic and Swansea City, impressing throughout his time in the Championship under Lee Bowyer and Steve Cooper.
Now, it appears he will join Slaven Bilic’s newly-promoted Baggies at The Hawthorns, adding some much-needed mettle and energy to the West Brom midfield.
Gallagher has attracted interest from Leeds United, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace during this window, and his late arrival at the Hawthorns following the beginning of the season is not a reflection of his ability.
He has been a first-choice target for many clubs and will look to play regularly at Premier League level, with a view to returning to Chelsea next summer.
Kepa replacement waiting on agreement between clubs
Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is being made to wait before sealing off on his Chelsea move, as the clubs are yet to reach a deal.
The 28-year-old has agreed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge and is set to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga between the posts for Frank Lampard’s side.
Rennes, however, are holding up the deal, having made last-minute adjustments to the previously agreed upon £27.5million transfer, as per the Daily Express.
Despite this, the goalkeeper is still expected to complete the move in the coming days.
Football.London report Mendy is merely waiting for permission to travel to London to finalise the deal which will make him the first Rennes player to make the move since Petr Čech in 2004.

Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla is set to remain in Serie A despite interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.
The Albanian international looks set to swap Hellas Verona for Roma. Kumbulla had emerged as a late target for Chelsea in this window, having displayed a rigorous and no-nonsense style throughout Hellas Verona’s first season back in the Italian top flight last year.
News that the 20-year-old has agreed terms will come as a disappointment to Chelsea supporters, many of whom feel the club still needs defensive reinforcements.
