Liverpool star Andy Robertson has responded to rumours of Thiago Alcantara arriving at the club’s training ground.
The Reds have reportedly agreed a £20m deal to sign the Bayern Munich midfielder after months of talks.
And there are even suggestions the 31-year-old was seen at Melwood training ground on Thursday, ahead of an unveiling on Friday – just in time for the Red’s match against Chelsea.
But Robertson, who grabbed 12 assists to help the Reds win the Premier League title for the first time, gave a update on Thiago’s whereabouts.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, the full-back said: “Look, when you’re at a club like Liverpool, you get linked with players all the time,” Robertson added.

In terms of transfers. The Reds have agreed a deal for Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara, but Georginio Wijnaldum continues to be linked with Barcelona. There’s a lot to keep track of.

“For us we focus on our squad. Nobody is in Melwood in terms of Thiago or any other players just now for new signings.
“Look in terms of that, we focus on until something is signed on the dotted line, then we don’t listen to rumours.”
Robertson went on to praise the club’s transfer strategy from an entertainment perspective.
He added: “In terms of us, our aim is to excite fans. We excited fans last season, they believed we might have won the league by Christmas time last season but we didn’t.
“So if we’re not exciting our fans then we’re not doing something right.
“So if the club are exciting the fans with a potential link or a potential rumour that we’re going to sign this player, then I suppose we’re doing something right.
“I’ve watched him, he’s a fantastic player, a player full of talent and he would add to the quality of squad in probably any team in the world.
“So if we get him, great. If we don’t, then it is what it is. But we wait and see until it’s definitely confirmed and then I can maybe sit down with you again and talk about his qualities a bit more.”
