2,896 cases in a day take count past 90K in Punjab

Chandigarh, September 17

The state reported 2,896 cases, including 57 deaths, in the past 24 hours.

With this, the total number of cases has reached 90,032 and the toll has climbed to 2,646.

Till now, 65,818 patients have recovered from the virus and at present 21,568 cases are active in the state.

Ludhiana reported 513 cases today, followed by Jalandhar with 357 cases, Patiala 294, SAS Nagar 284, Bathinda 222, Amritsar 181, Gurdaspur 134 and Kapurthala 133 cases.

As many as 12 patients succumbed in Ludhiana, followed by nine in Jalandhar, seven in Patiala, six in Fatehgarh Sahib, four in Pathankot, three each in Amritsar, Ferozepur and Sangrur and two each in Bathinda, Fazilka, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and Moga.
