National treasure Sir Captain Tom Moore has joked about his love for blonde women ahead of his appearance on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.
The 100-year-old war hero and fund-raising icon is set to discuss his life with 55-year-old Piers on the latest edition of the Life Stories series on Sunday night.
Earlier this year, Captain Tom captured the hearts of the nation when he raised over £30 million in support of the NHS with his 100 laps challenge – walking around his garden 100 times ahead of his own 100th birthday.
The World War II hero hit Number 1 in the music charts on 24 April when he featured on a rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone with Michael Ball, and was knighted by HM The Queen on 17 July.
Finding fame in his later years has led to Captain Tom being invited into the hot seat on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.
And the show host has revealed he was left laughing by the OAP when he heard what was on his rider – a list of snacks, refreshments and requests made by guests ahead of live shows.
Piers told The Sun: ”He asked if he could come on the show, and on his rider was a can of coke, Dairy Milk chocolate bar and six blondes. He told me the number of blondes was ‘variable’.”
It seems women are a soft spot for Captain Tom.
Piers continued: ”He’s a real ladies’ man. He said to me, ‘Let me put it like this; I’m not allergic to girls’.
“He loves all that, he has a lot of admirers.
‘”A lot of women would like to have a cup of tea with Captain Tom – he’s an unashamed ladies’ man, in the nicest possible way.”
Piers previously told the Radio Times of his excitement to interview the record breaking war veteran – and explained how excited the man himself was about his late life success.
Piers said: “He can’t believe what’s happened to him.
“He wants to ride the wave of it and do as much as he can to raise money and awareness.”
Piers Morgan’s Life Stories airs on ITV on Sunday night at 8pm.
