James Argent ‘forced to miss TOWIE 10 year reunion show’ over quarantine rules

TOWIE star James “Arg” Argent will be forced to miss the show’s 10 year reunion special, reports say.

It’s said Arg opted to stick about in Marbella between gigs after the British government ruled that anyone coming back from Spain would have to quarantine for two weeks to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Even if he had come back to the UK, the quarantine would mean he wouldn’t have been able to film for the reunion show.

Arg first appeared on ITV2’s reality hit in 2012 alongside best mate Mark Wright, as well as others like Lauren Goodger, Lydia Bright, Amy Childs and the Faiers sisters.

He has had an on-off relationship with Gemma Collins since 2012, after she joined the cast the year before, the pair calling it quits again in July this year.

An insider told The Sun Online : “Arg was caught out because he was in Marbella for a gig when the rules changed.

“It made more sense for him to stay out there until the next gig, and he wouldn’t have been able to film for Towie anyway because he’d have had to quarantine for two weeks when he got back from Spain.”

The source added: “He’s really sad to miss filming as he loves the show but will be watching at home.”

Mirror Online has reached out to reps for Arg and ITV for comment.

It was reported last year that show bosses sacked Arg after a positive drug test.

Late last year, the star was said to have checked into a rehab facility in Thailand.

Upon his return, Arg embarked on a rigorous workout and healthy eating regimen, and has recently left fans stunned by his remarkable weight loss.

He even reunited with on-off flame Gemma, but it wasn’t meant to be after they split again following a fiery text message showdown.

In a since deleted post, Gemma shared screenshots of the messages in which Arg brands her “hippo” and “fat f**k.”

She’s since apologised to Arg for sharing the screenshots to her social media followers.
