Inside Fearne Cotton’s marriage to Jesse Wood rocked by fiery lockdown tempers

Television and radio star Fearne Cotton and her husband Jesse Wood have shared six blissful years of marriage.

Since they tied the knot at Richmond Registry Office in south west London, the couple have welcomed two children – Rex and Honey – and the family are said to have grown stronger than ever.

However, the blonde star has also revealed that the marriage is not without its work and tempers were rife during the lockdown period.

Here we take a look at Fearne’s romance with the son of Rolling Stone’s Ronnie Wood.

The pair first met in 2011 while Fearne was enjoying a girls trip to Ibiza and the lovebirds immediately became inseparable.

Reminiscing on the moment they first met, Fearne shared a cute throwback on social media in which she was exchanging numbers with her future-beau.

“My mate @amandabyram who I was on a girls holiday with, took a sneaky photo 8 years ago to the day of me and @jessejameswood swapping numbers on a night out in Ibiza,” she penned in the post.

“Who would have thought it would lead to two kids and marriage! A game changing, very drunken night out that I’m forever grateful for. Happy ‘when we met’ anniversary Jesse.”

Over a year later Fearne announced the happy news that she was expecting her first child with Jesse, and the couple welcomed baby Rex in February 2013.

After almost two years of dating, Jesse popped the question and the couple set their sights on getting married in July 2014.

Surrounded by a host of celebrity guests including Holly Willoughby and Keith Lemon, the couple said their I Do’s at an adorable London-based ceremony.

One year later their daughter Honey was also born.

Although Fearne revealed to Red Magazine that the couple faced a rough patch in 2018 as Jesse toured relentlessly, they were able to work through their differences at the time.

In 2019, Fearne was forced to furiously shut down rumours that her relationship was on the rocks following some misinterpretations after she opened up about her marriage.

The doting mum of two had previously revealed that she sometimes sleeps in a different bed to her husband, but was forced to clarify the revelations.

In a candid post, Fearne opened up about her sleeping difficulties and reassured fans that: “my marriage IS NOT on the rocks. Here is a photo of me being very in love with my husband.”

That same year, Fearne admitted that it was important to talk about the highs and lows of marriage during an interview with The Telegraph.

“Every marriage… takes work,” she said.

“It doesn’t dilute our love or make our marriage any weaker, it actually makes it stronger because we’re willing to have those conversations.”

“…of course I’m not living this perfect, fairytale life.”

While reassuring fans that she is very much in love with her husband, the relationship was further put to the test during the lockdown period.

As with any family dynamic, Fearne and Jesse have learned to adjust during the quarantine – but it came with some fiery arguments.

Speaking on her Happy Place podcast, Fearne explained: “I am a very fiery ­person, and Jesse can also be quite fiery.

“We’ve certainly argued in front of the kids. Most parents have at some point.

“It’s not regular but we have definitely had a pop at each other in front of them — and you don’t feel good about it after.
