Christine McGuinness has told of her devastation following her beloved mum’s breast cancer diagnosis.
The 32-year-old mum of three dropped the heartbreaking news this evening, telling that she’d struggled to find the right words.
She also told of her mum’s “magical bond” with her grandchildren, and insisted that she’s “determined to fight it.”
Sharing a snap of her mum, Christine wrote: “This is possibly the most upsetting post I will ever write and typing away now it’s really hitting home.
“My mum, my best friend, my rock was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.”
Christine – who’s married to Paddy McGuinness – added: “It’s hit me hard, we are very close. She is a huge part of our family. We spend almost every weekend together with my children, their bond is magical.
“But, my mum is also the strongest woman I know and is determined to fight it, she’s a proper ‘scouse Ma’.
“I have always supported breast cancer charities as four of my aunties have also had breast cancer and my mum has asked me to continue helping raise money and awareness (the reason I’m sharing this) she has the biggest heart and always just wants to help others.
“#MyMum #MyInspo #MyMa You will smash it mum. C.”
Fans and pals alike were quick to offer their deepest sympathies.
Gemma Atkinson wrote: “Sending love and much strength to you all.”
Christine’s Real Housewives co-star Tanya Bardesley remarked: “O my god I feel sick I’m so so sorry.”
One fan commented: “Literally gave me goosebumps and tears in my eyes reading this. I’m so sorry you and your family are going through this, sending lots of love and positive thoughts your way and praying your mum puts up a good fight and gets better soon.”
Another penned: “I’m so sorry to hear this, I’m sure your Mum is a strong woman (like you) and she’ll get through it x.”
A third came in: “OMG I am so sorry this has happened you are amazing keep your head held high and remember the positive times send wishes to your mum love you lots you are smashing it.”
Christine recently announced her departure from The Real Housewives of Cheshire following a two year stint on the reality hit.
She told Bobby Norris: “Now after lockdown I’ve had so much time to reflect and I have got other opportunities, really exciting opportunities but I can’t give you that exclusive.
“I’ve got to make time for other things and with any time that I’ve got I need to spend it with the family and children. I’m still going to be about. You’re probably going to see more of me and it’s all really exciting.”
