Arsenal have completed deals for Gabriel and Dani Ceballos – and are ready to spend big again.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has sealed a £27m transfer for Lille’s Brazilian centre half Gabriel who joins on a five year contract.
They have also now agreed terms on another one-year loan deal for Ceballos from Real Madrid after the midfielder shone during last season’s run-in.
But Arsenal are still in the market as they try to chase Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey who remains a priority for Arteta.
The Gunners are likely to have to sell and raise cash before they can do more deals as they look to bolster the squad even further, having already signed Brazilian forward Willian on a free transfer.
Partey is keen on a move to the Emirates but that may drag on for some weeks as Arsenal will have to balance the books, with Arteta hopeful of doing so by offloading three current stars.
Arsenal want to sell Matteo Guendouzi with Valencia interested in the out-of-favour French midfielder.
Atletico were not open to taking the 21-year-old as a make-weight in the deal for Partey, even with £22.5m thrown on top, leaving Arsenal needing to drum up bids from elsewhere.
Greek defender Sokratis is also available and could be on his way to Napoli.
Who else would you consider selling out of Arsenal’s current crop? Have your say below.
The 32-year-old only has a year remaining on his contract meaning Arsenal will not be able to demand a big figure for his sale, with £3.5m the fee being touted.
Rob Holding has also been lined up for a loan move to Newcastle which will give Arsenal a small boost to the transfer kitty.
The ideal scenario would be for Mesut Ozil to also leave the club this summer to free up funds.
Ozil has reportedly been offered a huge offer worth £15million a year by Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr, but he is intent on seeing out his £350,000-per-week contract which expires next year.
