Geri Horner is left heartbroken after her beloved pet dog Hugo dies

Geri Horner has shared her heartbreak after her beloved dog Hugo died.

The former Spice Girl, 48, took to her Instagram account on Friday night to announce the sad news that Hugo had gone to “doggie heaven”.

She shared a video of some of her memories with Hugo and a lovely picture of the adorable pooch.

In the heartwarming clip Hugo gave Geri a kiss on her face as he growled at her, which she said was “affectionate”.

He was also seen giving her his paw as they played around in Geri’s huge garden at her home in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Geri says in the video: “He was probably a little bit suspicious at first going ‘who are you?’

“I think we all need each other and Hugo needs love as I do. We all do.”

In the caption she called Hugo her “special friend”.

“Goodbye Hugo my special friend,” Geri wrote. “Sadly past away to Doggie Heaven [sic].”

Geri’s husband Christian Horner was one of the first to comment on the post.

Christian wrote: “Hugo we will miss you so much but thank you for being such a good friend.”

Geri married Formula One’s Red Bull team boss Christian in 2015.

Together they share a three-year-old son called Monty.

She is also mum to a daughter, 14-year-old Bluebell, and Christian is dad to Olivia, six, from previous relationships.
