Chadwick Boseman worried fans with last appearance as he worked through cancer

Chadwick Boseman’s representatives confirmed they were devastated to announce his death at at the age of 43 today following a four year battle with colon cancer, as they described the Black Panther star as a ‘true fighter.’

The news came as a huge shock to many of Chadwick’s fans and Hollywood co-stars as he had kept his illness a secret and continued to make films throughout treatment.

Just four months ago in April, Chadwick appeared on camera to lend his support to a worthy cause.

At the time, the star had sparked concern from fans who were alarmed by his dramatic weight loss after knowing Chadwick best from his action-packed blockbusters.

Chadwick had posted the video to launch Operation 42, a scheme that donated $4.2million worth of PPE to hospital that looked after African American communities most affected by coronavirus.

The actor spoke to the camera about the cause clad in a purple baseball cap wearing the mark of the charity and a full beard.

“I hope you’re okay,” one fan responded in the comments while another asked the actor to “reassure [his] fan base about [his] health.”

Chadwick, who was later revealed to be battling Stage 4 cancer, chose not to respond to any of the comments about his appearance.

The actor chose not to discuss his condition and continued to film in major Hollywood blockbusters while he underwent gruelling treatment for his cancer.

In the heartbreaking announcement of his death today, Chadwick’s family revealed many of his most famous films, including Black Panther, Marshall, Da 5 Bloods, and August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, were filmed ‘during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.’

In a statement about the news, it was confirmed Chadwick had died at the age of 43  -four years after his diagnosis – while surrounded by his wife Taylor Simone Ledward and close relatives.

Chadwick and Taylor Simone Ledward were last seen in public together in February.

The pair looked in good spirits as they sat courtside to watch the NBA All Star game in Chicago.

Showing no sign of his health battle, Chadwick was seen laughing beside Taylor, who he is said to have proposed to last October before marrying before his death.
