Brave Chadwick Boseman made nine movies while hiding colon cancer battle

Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman bravely battled cancer for five years and remarkably was able to make nine movies during his illness.
Chadwick who is best know for playing Black Panther in the Marvel franchise, passed away on Friday aged 43 was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016.
His family revealed that remarkably he continued to make movies in between surgeries and chemotherapy treatment.
Just a year after his diagnosis he starred in Marshall and appeared in several other movies including Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and 21 Bridges (2019).
In a statement about his death, his family wrote: “A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more — all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.
“It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”
Chadwick played Thurgood Marshall, the first black Supreme Court Justice, in 2017’s Marshall.
The actor won critical acclaim for his role in the with film, with Rolling Stone’s , Peter Travers saying, “Charged by Boseman’s dramatic lightning, Marshall gives us an electrifying glimpse of a great man in the making.”
His last film appearance came in Spike Lee’s 2020 film Da 5 Bloods as “Stormin'” where he played Norman Earl Holloway, a US Army soldier that was killed during the Vietnam War.
He was next be seen opposite Viola Davis in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
The Netflix drama is based on the 1982 play of the same name.
It follow a band of musicians as they gather in Chicago to record a new album.
Chadwick plays Levee, a troubled young trumpeter with ambitions of leading his own band one day.
The actor’s most prominent role was as Black Panther, a character he played in a number of Marvel films.
His Black Panther character was introduced in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.
He then played the role Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
To prepare for the films fight scenes he trained rigorously to get in shape and learned martial arts including Angolan capoeira, Dambe boxing and Zulu stick.
Chadwick was born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina, and made his acting debut in the TV series All My Children in 2003.
He made his big screen debut in 2008 in biopic The Express: The Ernie Davis Story where he played Floyd Little.
In April this year, fans had been concerned after footage of Chadwick showed him looking frail.
The star had sparked alarm when he looked dramatically thinner during an appearance on Instagram.
Fans had asked if he was okay after he appeared visibly thin and sporting a beard, however he did not engage with the questioning.
Stars paid tribute to the loss of Chadwick as news spread.
Captain America co-star Don Cheadle wrote via Twitter : “i will miss you, birthday brother. you were always light and love to me. my god … forever and ever.”
