Kanye West makes a subtle dig at his feud with Taylor Swift : ‘Not gonna use a snake emoji cause you know why’

Kanye West made a subtle dig to his and wife Kim Kardashian’s feud with Taylor Swift during another rambling Twitter rant on Friday.

The rapper, 43, took to his social media to share an array of snaps and concept designs from his upcoming fashion ranges, as well as share his thoughts on a variety of topics with seemingly no correlation to one another.

In one such post, Kanye shared a picture of a snake at his Wyoming ranch before writing: ‘Not gonna use a snake emoji cause you know why… I’m not sure if Christians are allowed to use snake emojis’.

During their feud Kanye’s wife Kim had called Taylor a ‘snake’ when the Lover singer claimed she had ‘no idea’ Kanye would call her a ‘b****’ in his song Famous, which was released in 2016.

Kim shared a clip at the time which showed Kanye consulting Taylor about whether he could use the line ‘I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex’, suggesting Taylor had lied about being forewarned about the song.

The backlash Taylor received from Kim’s claim is thought to be the part of the reason behind why she took a hiatus from music shortly after.

A representative for Taylor said in 2016: ‘Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single Famous on her Twitter account.

‘She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, “I made that b**** famous”.’

However, a clip that surfaced on social media in March appeared to show that Kanye didn’t consult Taylor about the ‘b****’ lyric, and only asked her about the other line in the song, which was previously mentioned by Kim.

In the leaked footage that was released in March, Kanye was seen informing Taylor he is writing a song about her and asking her if she could hype it up by tweeting about it.

Kanye tells her: ‘It has a very controversial line at the beginning of the song about you.’

Kanye then told Taylor she ‘sounded sad’, and the singer questioned if the lyrics were ‘mean’, at which point he reassured her that he didn’t think they were.

He then says the lyric: ‘To all my Southside n***as that know me best / I feel like Taylor Swift might owe me sex.’

Taylor laughs and says: ‘That’s not mean.’

Kanye goes on: ‘If you felt that it’s funny and cool and hip hop, and felt like it’s the College Dropout and Ye that you love, people would be way into it, and that’s why I think it’s super genius to have you be the one that says, ‘Oh I like this song a lot… this is cool.’ Kanye West and Taylor Swift’s phone call about ‘Famous’ lyric leaksLoaded: 0%Progress: 0%0:00PreviousPlaySkipMuteCurrent Time0:00/Duration Time1:44FullscreenNeed Text

Taylor then said: ‘I’m glad it’s not mean, though. It doesn’t feel mean. But oh my God, the buildup you gave it, I thought it was going to be like, ‘That stupid, dumb b****.’ But it’s not..’

Taylor then tells Kanye she needs some time to think about it, adding: ‘When you hear something for the first time you need to think about it, because it is absolutely crazy.’

There was no mention Kanye would call her a ‘b***h’ or suggest he ‘made her famous’ during the phone call.

The start: Their feud began when the rapper jumped onstage as Taylor accepted her Video of the Year Award during the 2009 MTV VMAs and insisted Beyonce deserved the award instead

The feud between Kanye and Taylor was sparked when he invaded the stage during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when Taylor was honoured for Video of the Year.

Following the release of Famous, Taylor took a hiatus from the music scene.

Taylor has previously spoken about the extreme ‘isolation’ she felt and the attacks she endured in the weeks after Kardashian likened her to a ‘snake’.

‘A mass public shaming, with millions of people saying you are quote-unquote cancelled, is a very isolating experience,’ said Swift.

‘I don’t think there are that many people who can actually understand what it’s like to have millions of people hate you very loudly.’

Taylor Swift and Kanye West: A look back at their 10 years of Bad Blood

Taylor Swift has hinted that she will never make amends with Kanye West as she branded him ‘two-faced’ and claimed that she used to seek approval from him when he disrespected her.

Now MailOnline has taken a look back at the decade-long feud that appears to show no signs of being resolved anytime soon.

Although the pair’s feud came to a head in 2016 with an all-out Twitter war that saw Taylor and Kanye fans divided, the pair’s falling out is far more complicated than it once appeared to be.

SEPTEMBER 2009

The feud begins, seemingly out of the blue, when 19-year-old Taylor was at the MTV Video Music Awards, accepting the Best Female Video award for You Belong with Me.

Suddenly, in the middle of her acceptance speech, Kanye jumped on the stage, grabbed the microphone out of her hands and bellowed: ‘Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you and I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!’

In a bid to diffuse the tension, Beyonce later called Taylor up on stage when she won Video of the Year for Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), and allowed the country music star a moment in the spotlight.

SEPTEMBER 2010

A year after the infamous incident, Kanye apologises in a lengthy tweet, as he penned ‘I’m sorry, Taylor/ We’re both artists, and the media and managers are trying to get between us.

‘She deserves the apology more than anyone. Thank you [Twitter co-founders] Biz Stone and Evan Williams for creating a platform where we can communicate directly.

Two years on, it appears all bad blood is lost, as Kanye reveals he wants to collaborate with the songstress, telling Ryan Seacrest ‘She wants to get in the studio and we’re definitely going to go in.

‘I don’t have an elitism about music, I don’t discriminate.’

AUGUST 2015

Their reconciliation is short-lived, as Kanye humiliates Taylor at the 2015 VMAs after she presented him with the Video Vanguard Award.

It appeared the pair were getting on, and Kanye seemed to be joking by announcing ‘You know how many times they announced Taylor was going to give me the award ’cause it got them more ratings?’

However, Taylor has since announced that his statement truly irked her, as he made out in public that it was for ratings, but in private, asked her to be on stage with him as it would ‘mean so much’.

Taylor told Rolling Stone in 2019: ‘I’m standing in the audience with my arm around his wife, and this chill ran through my body. I realized he is so two-faced.

‘That he wants to be nice to me behind the scenes, but then he wants to look cool, get up in front of everyone and talk s**t. And I was so upset.’

FEBRUARY 2016

Taylor and Kanye’s feud reaches its most explosive point to date as Kanye references the star in the lyrics of his hit, Famous.

Taylor took offense at the rapper’s lyric: ‘For all my South Side n****s that know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b***h famous’.

Kanye defended the line, claiming he had a conversation with Taylor about the lyrics in question.

Other nude celebrities who make an appearance in the fictional bedroom setting are Rihanna, Chris Brown, Donald Trump, Caitlyn Jenner, George W Bush, Anna Wintour, Ruby Rose, Ray J and Bill Cosby.

JULY 2016

Taylor continues to accuse Kanye of lying about asking her permission to reference her in his lyrics, so Kim released a partial recording of the conversation in question.

‘I’m really glad you had the respect to call me that and tell me that as a friend, about the song. It’s just a really cool thing to do, and a really good show of friendship’ Taylor is heard saying.

Taylor hits back, claiming that although Kanye spoke through some aspects of the lyrics, she did not consent to being referred to as a ‘b***h’ in the song,

After that Taylor said she felt publicly shamed and ‘cancelled,’ most of the 2017 album Reputation was aimed at her experience during the ordeal.

MARCH 2019

Taylor dubs Kim and Kanye ‘bullies’ who started an internet hate campaign against her.

She tells Elle magazine: ‘I’ve come to see that bullies want to be feared and taken seriously. A few years ago, someone started an online hate campaign by calling me a snake on the internet.

‘The fact that so many people jumped on board with it led me to feeling lower than I’ve ever felt in my life.’

SEPTEMBER 2019

Taylor brands the rapper ‘two-faced’ in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine and states she is no longer willing to pretend they are on good terms

She explains ‘Some events took place to cause me to be p***ed off when [Kanye] called me a b***h. That was not just a singular event.

‘Basically, I got really sick of the dynamic between he and I’.
