Pakistan had scored 326 runs in the first innings. England started at 92 for four and their first innings ended on 219 runs. Pakistan got a 107-run lead in the first innings. Pakistan now has a total lead of 244 runs, due to which their position has started looking strong. However, England have made a strong comeback in the second innings, which also makes them appear in this Test. 

Ollie Pope started 46 and Jose Butler 15 runs ahead. Pope scored 62 runs in 117 balls with the help of eight fours and was dismissed for 127 as the fifth batsman. His wicket was taken by Nasim Shah. Butler was bowled by Yasir Shah for 38 runs in 108 balls with six fours. Chris Woakes scored 19 and Jofra Archer scored 16 runs. Stuart Broad scored 29 not out with the help of four fours and a six in 25 balls to take England to 219. 

For Pakistan, Yasir Shah took four wickets for 66 runs, while Mohammad Abbas got two wickets for 22 runs and Shadab Khan got two wickets for 13 runs. Shaheen Afridi and Nasim Shah got one wicket each.
