A day after the Bihar government demanded a CBI inquiry, the Central Government issued a notification on Wednesday evening asking the Central Investigation Agency CBI to investigate the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. On Monday, leaders of all parties in the Bihar Assembly demanded a CBI investigation into the case. However, both the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the then Home Minister Anil Deshmukh denied the CBI probe.
The associate newspaper Hindustan Times has quoted official sources aware of the whole case that the CBI can file an FIR in the case tonight or Thursday morning. Earlier, the Center told the Supreme Court that they had accepted the demand of the Bihar government to conduct a CBI inquiry into the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
The court was told that the Indian government has accepted the request for a CBI inquiry on behalf of the Bihar government in principle. Notifications about this will be released by the end of the day today.

Sushant’s father has alleged that money has been transferred from his son’s bank account to actress Riya Chakraborty and others. He made serious allegations on Riya saying that in May 2019 she became his son’s friend so that Riya herself could pursue her career. Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his home in Bandra, a suburb of Mumbai, on 14 June. Since then, Mumbai Police is investigating it keeping various aspects in mind.
Bollywood actress Riya Chakraborty filed a petition on July 29 in the apex court on charges of inciting actor Sushant Singh Rajput to commit suicide for transferring an FIR on July 24 to Mumbai and prohibiting investigations by Bihar police have requested.
Krishna Kishore Singh, father of Sushant Singh Rajput, filed a caveat in the court, requesting the court not to take any action in this case without giving him notice. After this, the Bihar government and Maharashtra government had also filed cavities in it. The government of Bihar and Maharashtra had requested the court to hear their side before passing any order on this petition.
