Tom Hanks would be ‘selling’ Hot Dogs at Baseball game

As the Oakland Athletics are back on the field amid the ongoing pandemic, the ‘Castaway’ actor will be revisiting his younger years when he sold peanuts at sports games.

Tom Hanks has gone back to his hot dog-selling roots to make Oakland Athletics players feel at home in an empty baseball park.

A legendary voice will echo throughout the Oakland Coliseum during A’s games this season.

Award-winning actor and East Bay native Tom Hanks has recorded himself hawking classic baseball game favorites, like hot dogs, peanuts and scorecards, for the club to play over the stadium’s speakers during games, which won’t feature any fans due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Serving as a hawker is nothing new for Hanks. His first job was selling concessions at the Coliseum, according to the A’s.

The A’s will also pipe in other familiar sounds heard at the ballpark, such as the “Let’s Go Oakland” chant, the blaring of vuvuzelas and the beating of drums.

Oakland opens the regular season Friday night at the Coliseum against the Los Angeles Angels. First pitch is slated for 7:10 p.m.
