West Bengal – Dinajpur  BJP MLA Devendra Nath Roy found dead hanging

Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Devendra Nath Roy was found dead near his home in North Dinajpur in North Bengal on Monday morning. The body of the BJP MLA was found hanging in the balcony of a shop near his house in Bindal of Hemtabad. Family members have alleged murder. At the same time, BJP leader Rahul Sinha has demanded a CBI inquiry from CM Mamta Banerjee, accusing TMC of murder.

Police have started investigation. No one has been arrested until the news is written. People in the vicinity clearly believe that the BJP MLA was first murdered and later the body was hung from the shop.

On receiving the body of the MLA, BJP leader Rahul Sinha said, ‘We demand a CBI inquiry into the murder of BJP MLA Debendra Nath Ray of Hemabad. The Trinamool Congress is behind this murder and has made it like a suicide. I request the CM of West Bengal to order a CBI inquiry to find out the truth behind the murder. ‘

Devendra Nath Roy won the 2016 Hematabad assembly seat in Uttar Dinajpur district on a CPIM ticket, but later joined the BJP in 2019.
