Trying to call Nanavati Hospital, no response – Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Amitabh Bachchan’s health. mamta banerjee, Omar Abdulla to Akhilesh react

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said he has been trying to get in touch with staff at the Nanavati Hospital where Amitabh Bachchan is admitted with coronavirus but has not been able to contact anyone.

India has been shaken up by the news of senior Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan testing coronavirus positive.

On Saturday evening, Amitabh Bachchan was admitted to the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. A few moments later, he confirmed on Twitter that he has tested coronavirus positive.

“I have tested COVID positive. Shifted to Hospital. Hospital informing authorities, family and staff undergone tests, results awaited,” Bachchan tweeted.

Among hordes of well-wishers, India’s Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan also wished a speedy recovery to the world-famous superstar.

“Dear Amitabh ji, I join the whole nation in wishing you a quick recovery! After all, you are the idol of millions in this country, an iconic superstar! We will all take good care of you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!,” Harsh Vardhan wrote on Twitter.

The health minister also spoke exclusively with Aaj Tak about an update on Amitabh Bachchan’s health. Harsh Vardhan said he has been trying to get in touch with staff at the Nanavati Hospital but has not been able to contact anyone.

“I have received reports about Amitabh Bachchan’s coronavirus positive status. I have not been able to speak to anyone at Nanavati Hospital. From what we know he is stable but we have not been able to speak to any doctor or official overseeing his treatment at present. I am making all efforts to make contact,” he said.

“I am fully confident of the treatment Mr Bachchan will receive at Nanavati Hospital. We will also provide any help needed from our side,” Harsh Vardhan added.

The health minister also added that he did not have any specific information about other members of the Bachchan family testing positive.

Apart from Dr Harsh Vardhan, several other political leaders also wished a speedy recovery to Amitabh Bachchan.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took to Twitter and wrote, “Extremely saddened to hear the news of Shri Amitabh Bachchan Ji testing Covid positive. Praying for his strength & speedy recovery. @SrBachchan please get well soon!”

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Chouhan also said he was praying for Amitabh Bachchan’s good health. “Received news of superstar Amitabh Bachchan being unwell. May God make you healthy at the earliest and you get back to work again with the same energy. We wish you all the best!” he said.

Former CMs Omar Abdullah, Akhilesh Yadav and Devendra Fadnavis also wished Big B well.

Rajya Sabha MPs Jyotiraditya Scindia and Priyanka Chaturvedi also wrote get well soon messages on Twitter. While Scindia said, “I pray for your speedy recovery. Please take care”, Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote, “My best wishes to you sir, wish you a speedy recovery!”
