Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has alleged that the BJP is attempting to topple his government by bribing Congress and Independent MLAs, triggering a fresh round of political uncertainty in the state. On Saturday, Ashok Gehlot said BJP leaders have “gone beyond humanity” as they are tried to destabilise his government in the midst of the coronavirus crisis. Ashok Gehlot said the BJP also made such attempts in the run up to the recently held Rajya Sabha elections. Meanwhile, the BJP has rubbished these charges and accused Ashok Gehlot of trying to deflect people’s attention from the infightings within the Congress, and the failure of his government in responding promptly to the coronavirus pandemic. According to the sources, Sachin pilot has complained of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s sidelining attempts. Meanwhile, both the leaders will likely be summoned to Delhi.

Sources have told India Today TV that Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot is in talks with the Bharatiya Janata Party, as has been claimed by the Ashok Gehlot camp. According to the sources, Sachin Pilot has complained that the state officials “ignore” him. He has also sought intervention from the Central leadership. Sources say Ashok Gehlot camp has alleged that Sachin Pilot is in talks with the BJP. The party high command is likely to talk to both the leaders. Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot are likely to be summoned to Delhi soon.

Phones of MPs and MLAs are being taped in Rajasthan by the state police’s special operation group (SOG) in violation of the right to privacy, Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) convener Hanuman Beniwal alleged on Saturday. Hanuman Beniwal also alleged that attempts were made by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to poach three RLP MLAs during the Rajya Sabha elections last month. “The SOG is tapping phones (of MPs and MLAs) on directions of the state government,” the Nagaur MP said. RLP is an NDA constituent.
