Choreographer Saroj Khan dies

Saroj Khan was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital on June 20 due to shortness of breath. Before being admitted to the hospital, his Kovid test was done, which came negative. A source associated with Saroj Khan’s family claimed that her health was slowly getting better. He will be discharged soon. But suddenly his health deteriorated late at night and he could not be saved. Saroj Khan’s funeral will be held in Malwani, Malad, Mumbai on Friday.

In a long career of four decades, Saroj Khan has the credit of choreographing over 2,000 songs. Saroj Khan had received the National Award 3 times due to her art of choreography. In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Devdas, he received the National Award for choreography for the song Dola-Re-Dola.

She also received the National Award for the memorable item Song Ek-two-three of Madhuri Dixit’s film Tezaab and the song Yeh Ishq … from the 2007 film Jab We Met.

Saroj Khan had last choreographed the devastated song in the film Kalank under the production house of Karan Johar. Madhuri Dixit was seen in this song. The film was released in 2019.
